The concept – There is a giant willow tree at the bottom of my street. I walk past it anytime I can . I love the way the leaves cascade down and the way the light shines through the leaves.
I really wanted to capture that in my paintings somehow.
I wasn’t looking for the pieces to be realistic, just for you to get the feeling of being enclosed and protected by a canopy of leaves. To create something that had the essence of that peace and grounding!
This large painting on canvas paper has layers and layers of abstract leaves in different directions to give a real sense of e of movement and depth .
Painted in many shades of green along with gold and a touch of pink sunlight .
